The truth is: when we hide feelings, we begin to deny, discount and denigrate them, as if the determined ploy diminishes their relevance. Not so. Buried emotions do not subside but grow in demeanor like unfed monsters hidden away in the attic; they devour and destroy everything and anyone in arm’s reach. In order to subdue the self-generated deceit, because of the need to appear perfect, we become intolerable of any apparent wrong we discover in ourselves. We inadvertently become uncompromising and unwilling to bend and flow. Resistance sets in, taking hold our young characters molding it in such a way as to be agonizingly inflexible and intolerably rigid. 

How unfortunate for us as we ‘set in stone’ the unpleasant and uncharacteristic demeanor of unforgiveness in ourselves. We will not accept the appearance of imperfection, needing to display that we have the answers to everything f or everybody. Along with this high and mighty attitude, we will not allow ourselves vulnerability on any level, at any time. We make it seem as if we are capable of taking care of every situation, not needing anyone else's help or advice; intolerant of outside interference or intrusion. Behind the face of uncompromising conduct, an excruciating penetrating self-analysis carries on, executing deliberate self-punishment for not truly being the unblemished person that is projected on the outside. 

 What we typically do, during the unfolding hours, of our days, is to run ‘pretty much’ on automatic pilot. We bumble around, half dazed, the other half crazed, as ‘numbed humans’, functioning with less than 1% of any verifiable clue as to what it is we’re doing, much less why we are doing it. Now, of course, I’d be the first one to tell you that if, at any time you THINK you know what you are doing: cease immediately. For whatever reason you ascribe to the event or situation, person or event is most likely way off the mark. 

But, what is more important, as far as I (MODE of Cosmic Therapy) is concerned, is for you to “wake up” from out of your slumber, to view the various hypnotized emotional mechanisms, at work, which keep you chained to a continued, unwanted slaved (robotical) neurotically trained misery.  Yes, I did say “emotional mechanisms”. And, I did purposely use the word “hypnotized”! Do you have a better word?

Count Not Trophies

Everyday circumstances set the stage

Supplying the weapons to split the cage

Opening dungeons with stale scripts, too

Of tomb rallied anger not subdued

Observe emotion change with rapid speed

Revealing buried passion of artistic sensual need

Interested in entering the door marked, “It’s not for sure”

Then, commit thyself to winding paths, lived in a blur

Without memorized security to plant thy feet

Leave vestiges of discernment in rubble indiscreet

Live courageously without a thought

Investigate; then deny all beliefs that begin “thy ought”

Forge ahead without holding back

Experience "YOU" who has no lack

Be courageous enough not to apologize

Or foolishly invest in beguiling lies

Speak only when you think you have nothing to say

Count not trophies offered as prized possessions on any given day
